South West Brands announces intention to list on London Stock Exchange
All female-led CBD consumer company South West Brands (SWB) has announced its intention to float on the London Stock Exchange.
The global, multi-brand CBD consumer goods group launched in January, raising £1 million in efforts to become ‘The Hut Group’ of the cannabis space.
The funds raised through shares will help develop new consumer products to add to the portfolio over the next two years.
SWB is led by CEO Rebekah Hall, whose Botanic Lab soft drinks are widely available throughout the UK retail chain, including Waitrose supermarkets.
Hall said:
“South West Brands is uniquely placed to take advantage of this growing market and the significant opportunity that exists in branded goods.
“The time is right to advance consumer products expertise, discipline, and structures that can elevate the industry and consumer experience, ultimately building world class brand assets that utilise CBD.
“Our listing on the London Stock Exchange will enable South West Brands to access the new pool of cannabis investors that has grown in London following the successful admission of a number of cannabis companies in 2021.”
SWB has identified key areas and products to address in order to satisfy unmet consumer demand, including drinks, menstrual cycle care, Gen-Z skincare and men’s holistic wellness.
Hall said:
“The Admission will allow the Group to advance to the next stages of its growth plans, and build a suite of strong brands that not only utilise CBD, but drive consumer engagement and product sell-through, something which has been missing in the industry thus far.”
The SWB management structure boasts several other high-profile names and CBD industry experts alongside Hall.
Chief Commercial Officer Lisa Shapiro has worked for some of the biggest consumer product developers in the world, including Coca-Cola, Jeep and Netflix.
Meanwhile, General Manager Hannah Skingle successfully built consumer and contract manufacturing firm Dragonfly Biosciences.
Brand and Marketing Director Fran Pearce joined SWB following her success with Superdry and US-UK CBD brand, Pollen, under parent cannabis company, Tilray.
