A quick guide to CBD vaping

Vaping is one of the most popular ways to consume CBD.

Much like tinctures and edibles, there are countless CBD vaping products on the market.

CBD e-liquids come in a massive range of flavours, so there really is something for everyone.

There are all kinds of vape devices too, but they are not all suited to CBD.

Rapid onset

One of the reasons vaping is so popular is how quickly it takes effect.

After inhaling a CBD e-liquid, it is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream.

Vaping is the fastest way to consume CBD, though it does have the shortest duration.

This makes it ideal for quickly targeting issues such as pain and anxiety as they arise.

E-Liquids

CBD e-liquids typically contain: CBD, flavourings and a carrier solution, usually vegetable glycerin and/or propylene glycol.

Like tinctures, CBD e-liquids contain either broad spectrum, full spectrum or isolated CBD. And in recent years, some CBD e-liquid manufacturers have began adding terpenes to achieve certain effects.

While CBD isolate e-liquids may product less of a functional effect, they are much easier on vape coils than broad spectrum or full spectrum.

The coil is a heating element that turns an e-liquid into a vapour.

Pod devices

Vape devices come in all shapes and sizes but probably the most popular in 2021 is the pod system.

Pod systems come with either refillable or pre-filled ‘pods’. If your device requires pre-filled pods, you will only be able to use pods from a single manufacturer.

Refillable pod systems give you the freedom to experiment with different CBD e-liquids.

These devices are small, easy to use and do not require replacement coils or batteries.

Safety

Always make sure that you buy CBD e-liquid, not CBD oil, as CBD oils are not designed with vaping in mind.

Oil-based cannabis cartridges are widely available on the black market.

Some of these use a different carrier, such as MCT or coconut oil. Lipid oils are potentially incredibly harmful when heated and should never be vaped.
